Dr Martyn Cox grew up in Devizes and attended Devizes School before studying for an Honours Degree in Cell Biology and Immunology at Plymouth University.

Martyn then studied Dentistry at Bristol University whilst at the same time obtaining his PhD into the molecular biology of virus infections and human oral cancer. He also completed post-doctoral research into Human Papilloma virus Oncology during this time before gaining his Dental degree in 1991. Martyn has been awarded numerous research prizes in the UK and has published over 40 papers in both UK and international peer reviewed journals including several oral cancer textbooks. He has lectured on oral cancer, human papilloma virus genetics and Implantology both in the UK, Europe and the USA.

Martyn leads the clinical team at Ferndale and over the past 30 years has developed a specialist interest in the field of Implantology and Oral surgery with a detailed knowledge and experience in CT guided implantology. Martyn has carried our surgical placements in IV sedation and oral surgery at RAF Wroughton, Royal United Hospital Bath and is currently an Honorary Oral Surgeon at Solihull Hospital, Birmingham.

Dr Cox has been involved in placing, restoring, and teaching Implantology for over 25 years and has placed over 5000 implants dental implants during this time with an audited 99% success rate. He is trained in, and teaches other clinicians, advanced dental implant techniques including guided bone regeneration and sinus lift techniques. He currently mentors around 50 other UK dentists and has been an implant mentor/teacher for Bredent, Bicon, and Implantium implant systems, and the VSS MSc Implantology course. Martyn is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (England), the International Team for Implantology and lectures at the Royal College Oral Surgery course and sits on the Editorial board of Special Care in Dentistry.

Dr Martyn Cox believes strongly in developing a personal relationship with his own patients and since all advanced implant and cosmetic treatments are carried out in house, his patients receive the ultimate in co-ordinated, logical dental implant treatments resulting in long lasting, safe treatment options. His experience both clinically and academically afford his patients the knowledge that they are in very capable hands.

Dr Hayley Webb is originally from Devizes and has returned to the town having been working in practices in Dorset and Somerset since qualifying as a dentist.

Hayley studied dentistry as part of the graduate professional entry programme at King’s College, London having previously read Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.

Hayley enjoys all aspects of her profession and practices patient-led, minimally invasive dentistry. She particularly enjoys building confidence in young and anxious patients. Hayley is very passionate about preventative dentistry, educating people in the best ways to care for their teeth and gums. Hayley has previously taken part in outreach projects bringing oral health education to children in inner city schools in London, and also in Peru.

In her spare time, Hayley enjoys baking, horse-riding, and canicross so you might see her running around the countryside with my rescue dog, Inca.

Aneta graduated from the University of Targu Mures, Romania in 1999.

She established a private medical centre where she worked until 2010 before taking up the challenge of practising dentistry in UK. She completed postgraduate courses in implantology and minor oral surgery, gaining membership of International Team of Implantology and Faculty of Dental Dentistry.

Since 2015 Aneta has been offering intravenous sedation for anxious patients as a member of Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia. She is very patient and kind to nervous patients with fear of dental treatments. Aneta has joined us from a busy dental practice where she gained experience in routine dentistry and implants.

In her spare time Aneta enjoys walking, cycling and swimming with her children.

Olivia grew up in Buckinghamshire and studied dentistry at Bristol University. After graduating she gained experience in a busy NHS practice providing general dentistry to all ages. Olivia then spent time working at the Royal United Hospital as a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillofacial surgery department gaining experience in surgery and oral medicine, it was during this time that she was awarded membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in London. Since Olivia’s hospital position she has gained certification and experience in sedation for treatment of nervous patients in private practice, whilst undergoing a Masters Degree in general dentistry. She is enthusiastic about providing quality and up-to-date cosmetic dentistry to her patients and has extra training in clear aligners to straighten teeth, composite bonding, and facial aesthetics.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and enjoys walks in the Wiltshire countryside with her spaniel and dachshund.

Melanie qualified at Manchester Victoria University in 1991. She spent the next 12 years developing skills in and around sunny Manchester before venturing south to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Stints in Henley and Swindon followed, adding further experience of both paediatric and geriatric dental care.

Practicing in all areas of general dentistry for over 30 years, she is a keen advocate of MI (minimal intervention) with extensive experience (since 2006) of using air abrasion instead of a rotary drill for removal of decay; it’s a revelation compared with conventional dentistry and greatly favoured by patients.

Alongside this, Melanie prefers a Bioclear system (since 2018) for optimal composite filling technology, which is also coincidentally currently being adopted for teaching in Manchester.

Outside of work, Melanie is a big fan of murder mysteries whether it be book or film from classics (Christie – Poirot or Marple) to contemporary (Osman, Horowitz), but also enjoys cooking with her daughter and meeting the never satisfied needs of Linus the cat.
